Coral Gables

Coral Gables is one of the country’s first planned communities steeped in romantic charm.

Welcome to Coral Gables

An historic neighborhood steeped in romantic charm, Coral Gables is one of country’s first planned communities, incorporated in 1925 as a small suburb. Originally representing the apex of the European style of easy living with Spanish and Italian influences, Coral Gables has since transformed into a carpet of lush landscapes and modern boutique buildings on the backdrop of balmy tropical weather. An architectural legacy, Coral Gables is one of the most premiere cities to reside in with its collection of terracotta rooftop homes and palette of rich culture, sophisticated restaurants and longstanding bars that are reminiscent of the city’s beginnings. A counterpoint to its antique gateway, Coral Gables is also home to over 100 multinational companies, consulates, and trade offices, lending itself a reputation of a sprawling financial hub that continues to grow.

Located southwest of Downtown Miami, Coral Gables is bounded on the west by Red Road and Sunset Drive to the North. Miami International Airport is conveniently located only four miles away.

History of Coral Gables

Coral Gables has longtime been pursued as a top neighborhood to live in due to its unrivaled Mediterranean Revival architecture inspired by George Merrick of Coral Gables. Enamored by this illustrious design style that was carried throughout Villa Viscaya, Merrick was determined to incorporate similar European influences across the community. Together, with help from a trailblazing team of designers and architects, Denman Fink, H. George Fink, Phineas Paist and Frank Button, Merrick set the pace for a modern interpretation of the Mediterranean coastline featuring elements of “The City Beautiful” Movement which encouraged tree-lined winding streets and palatial fountains and plazas. By 1925, Coral Gables manifested a real estate boom, including seven million dollars of properties sold, more than six hundred homes constructed, sixty-five miles of roadways built, eighty miles of sidewalks added and the structure of the legendary Biltmore Hotel.

Today, Coral Gables offers an abundance of real estate options, including single family homes, townhomes, ivy-covered estates, and modern contemporary condominiums. There is something for every type of buyer with average prices ranging from $500,000 to $55,000,000.
